Wardrobe transition from summer to fall can be a little tricky, especially if you are like me and have a bunch of beautiful pieces that I am not ready to shove into the back of my closet yet. Don't get me wrong; I love the sophisticated style that cooler temperatures bring but I am not one to spend my money filling my dresser with a new set of outfits every season. Below are some essentials that will hep you shift your pieces into this season effortlessly;

1. Floral Dress meets The Black Opaque Tight

The black opaque tight began it's reign in the 1960's when women would wear the shortest of skirts. It takes your floral dresses from scandalous to stylish in a matter of seconds. Try wearing your tights with black boots or heels: this creates one sleek line, making you look slightly taller and slimmer.

2. Layer Up

The knit cardigan is a fall staple that can be thrown over T-shirts, tops and dresses to cozy up a look. Gray is a color that will never go out of style. If you are more adventurous, try mixing color combos like mustard and deep reds.

3. Leather Jacket

The leather jacket is a simple statement piece. Put it on when you feel the need for that 'rock star' edge. When purchasing a leather jacket make sure you have the correct fit. The shoulders should never look slouchy and the jacket should end at your waist. Otherwise, it may make your body look disproportional.

Lastly, when it doubt pair your vibrant floral with a base of black. Graphic lines tames the print and pulls the whole look together.
